Neighborly Fun

It was a beautiful night and the mosquitoes weren't that bad (since the city fogged the night before), and we noticed that Rob and Laura (the neighbors) got a new bean bag toss game, so we joined in. The twins had just passed out for the night and the older ones were already over at their house. It became a competitive game of bragging rights for the block. Bill has a small competitive streak and it must have been out, because after kicking back a few beers, it was after 1:00 am before they let him escape with his winning streak intact.

Survived the first week!!!

Megan has survived her first week of school. She started off nervous, but has gotten over that really quick. She is getting to know what days she has which classes, and which day to wear her gym uniform instead of her real uniform. She gets along well with the other students and really enjoys her teacher. We will get to meet her teacher and class this Thursday for the open house. I wonder if she will tell me that Megan is a social butterfly.

Reniassance Faire... Take 2

http://www.renfair.com/bristol/index.php

This time the weather cooperated and the Faire was open. It was a pleasant 80-some degrees and NO RAIN. They rescheduled scout weekend, so we packed up the fam in the van and off we went. Bill was the only one who had been there before, so he knew what the fun things were to do. I have never seen so many people dressed up in costume before, and it wasn't even Halloween. I also saw many new and exciting ways to make your bosoms pop off of your chest. All the kids seemed to enjoy it, even the twins. All 3 of the older kids enjoyed the jousting matches. Max likes new ways to inflict pain on others.

Amarii's Party x 2 and Jordan's, too

Mommy, Megan and the Twins went to Amarii and Jordan's birthday party while the boys were playing with trains. Amarii turned one year old and Jordan turned three. They had an inflatable jumpy thing and all the bubbles you could ask for. Mommy also had lots of baby holders :), that's what's great about family functions. Daddy and Max joined us after their train excursion. The party ended with a bang (literally), as they had lots of fireworks to close out the evening and the kids loved it. It is a 3 minute ride home from their house and Max passed out in that time frame. I think he had a good time.

Train Day

Daddy and Max went to a model train club open house today. They got to see the trains go and Max got to control some too. Max also got to help paint one of the trains to make it more rustic.

Amarii's Birthday Party

Today was Amarii's first birthday, so we piled in the van and went to Grandma Pam and Papa George's house to celebrate. The kids wanted to help her eat her cake so bad, but we held them off so she could enjoy her first cake. We then attended the big birthday party for her and Jordan on Saturday.

First Day of School

Today was Megan's first day of school at Our Lady of Humility. She got up early and got all dressed up in her uniform and was ready to go. She was a bit nervous starting a new school, but she survived. She already knew some of the kids in her class either from pre-school or her T-ball playing years. She said she made a new friend already named Kendall. She loves her teacher, Mrs. Friedlund, and is really looking forward to going tomorrow. She told me today, that OLH is worth the money, because she likes it.

Closed today, Aug. 19, due to Flooding.. :(

We have to have the patch for this, (patches are like crack in our house) We were ready to battle the rain to get it and nothing was going to stop us. We are hoping they reschedule the scout activities they had planned, for one of the next 2 weekends.

Knights of Columbus Family Picnic

It was a wet day to have a picnic, but at least we had the great indoors to keep dry in. The picnic was held down at the Marina in Winthrop Harbor. The kids got to finally play outside on the playground right before we left. From there, Miss Social Butterfly, had a bowling/pizza/sleepover event to attend to.
