Vacation time in the U.P. Day 1

You never realize just how much stuff you take with when you go on vacation for a week. We had the van packed full while still allowing space for 4 kids, and had a luggage carrier on top of the van packed full too. I am still trying to figure this one out; we only added 2 more kids and their stuff is small. We all hopped in the van at about 7:30 p.m. and headed North into the night. The older kiddies were kicking back having some Mickey D's for dinner and enjoying their "Night at the Musuem" movie. Five hours later, we arrived in the Upper Penisula of Michigan at about 12:30 a.m. to stay with Heidi's grandparents and do the usual family mingling at the hunting camp.

We slept in as long as Keira would let us, since the princess needed to eat and needed to eat NOW at about 6 am. We then headed into town to get our usual beer and fireworks and last minute supplies to get whatever we need before we go out into the sticks to Heidi's family's camp, away from civilization.

Once we got to camp, many people were already there and it was time to kick back and relax. More to come... I'm tired.

You know, the amount of stuff you take on a trip is exponentially related to the number of people going. So you didn't just add two LITTLE people, you added 2 squared. Don't ask why... it's just a fact!
and at least your 'carrier' didn't lose a suitcase like UNITED did to us!
