Head Wound Harry

What could possibly go wrong with a game of shoe tossing? The twins were throwing all my shoes down the basement stairs and Max was tossing them back up to them. Sounds fun, huh? Well I am guessing that Connor got into Keira's personal space, or grabbed the wrong shoe, or just didnt get out of the way quick enough.

Max's story is that Keira took one of Megan's school shoes and clocked Connor right in the head with it. Poor Connor!! When I heard the cries, I ran over to them and his head was bleeding. I rushed him into the bathroom to clean it [edit - as I remember, Daddy had to clean it] up and Daddy looked at it and said we had to take him in. It was a deep gash. He was no longer crying or even acknowledging his new booboo. So we wisked him off to the acute care center and they proceeded to strap him to a papoose board and give him 3 stitches in his poor little forehead. Here are some pics that we took with our phones.

Aaahhh. Massive head wounds and stitches and two year-old boys. It's a familiar story around here. Josh ended up with 5 stitches after his close encounter with a bookshelf when he was 2 1/2. Looks like Connor was a big boy, though, and will come out of this just fine.

I hate those papoose boards! I hope all is well.

Those baby blue eyes really show up in the photos. His injury definitely hasn't slowed him down at all.

Haven't we all had our share of run-ins with flying shoes? I'm sure the worst of it was the papoose. Any emotional trauma seems to have passed--he looks pretty happy in that photo showing off his new forehead accessory...
